Are you ready to take another journey of discovery into the wonderful world of whisky?

Easter is nearly upon us, so chocolate will be in abundance and you are soon to indulge yourself in the buying and eating of it. So let’s do something completely different and explore cheese with our whisky.

“Whisky and cheese?!”, did I hear you scoff.

It’s the perfect (if unconventional) match and here’s why: Sherry, port or wine are normally the ”go to” drinks for cheese. The clever Master Distillers of whisky have been finishing and maturing their whiskies in casks that have previously held sherry, port or wine longer than some of us have been alive. Sherry casks, port casks and wine cask whiskies are wondrously rich, complex in flavour and the older bottles carry heavy price tags.

Together we will discover how the higher ABV’s and the combinations of tastes in whisky will interact with the creaminess and fully bodied flavours of cheese.

This is not a whisky pairing dinner – the next whisky pairing dinner will be around St George’s Day. This tasting is about discovering the different cask types and finishes of whisky and exploring how versatile whisky is with different types of food.

London has a host of excellent venues, so let’s enjoy some of the variety. For whisky and cheese were are moving to another great venue – The Megaro Hotel in Kings Cross, with an amazing private room dedicated for the event.
