A Rare Whisky and Luxury Cheese Tasting

A Rare Whisky and Luxury Cheese Tasting

If you ever dined at the famous 56 Curzon Street, then you would have experienced the achievements of the legendary British chef Marco Pierre White. Marco is renowned for his uncompromising approach to excellence with every plate of food that leaves his kitchen.

To achieve this, choosing the right suppliers is paramount. Marco is still using some of the same trusted suppliers to this day and we’re giving you the opportunity to take a journey with us through Marco’s choice of luxury Cheese Mongers at Cheese & Whisky on October 15th.

The Cheese: You might recognize this Cheese Monger not only for his cheese awards, but also for his success as an original band member with Blur. Two of the cheeses you will experience are:

  • Alex James Blue Monday – Blue Cheese

Alex was the 1st customer of Macro Pierre White. Marco exulted his name for his patronage, and Alex’s name is on his menus both for his cheese and having a cheese burger named after him.

  • Number 1 Cheddar Cheese – Cheddar

Named No1 because it was the first cheese on the menu at Macro Pierre White’s first restaurant in London.

The whisky: I’ve teased you with two of the cheeses, so I’ll do likewise with the whisky. I thought I’d treat you to two very special drams.

If you read my email on the launch of Ardbeg’s first edition, 19yr old, Traigh Bhan, and the struggle it’s been for whisky enthusiasts to sample the dram, you should have a pretty good idea on one of the drams you’ll be tasting. I’ve been itching to open it!

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking whisky doesn’t work with cheese, there are so many great drams that do and Glendronach is one of them. I haven’t let Glendronach’s whiskies loose on you yet. That changes on Oct 15th. Discover their BIG sherry flavours, high ABV’s and epic cask selection that has positioned Glendronach as the sherry cask king in a lot of people’s book. Great oak and sweet sherry works a treat with creamy unctuous cheese.

The Event: 4 British cheeses from an iconic British chef. 4 epic drams (one of which is nearly impossible to find). You’ll experience that whisky and cheese works and works extremely well.

The Date and Time: Tuesday October 15th. Arrive at 7.00pm to start at 7.30pm.

The Venue: New Road Hotel Whitechapel – we have organized a special room rate for you, clink on Whisky Drams Room Rate if you would like to stay the night.

Register: Seats are £65 per person, if you would like to bring guests please let me know. Click Here to Register. Registration will close on Friday October 11th, please complete your booking before then.

I’m  looking forward to sharing this tasting with you

What Previous Clients Have Said:

“Can I thank you for a wonderful evening. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and found it fascinating to play with my palate. The whisky and the cheese were both fantastic as was your hosting. I found you extremely friendly, engaging and interesting. I’ll definitely be coming again and hope to bring some friends who I think will really enjoy it too!” – Jonathan Harrisberg

“Not all whisky tastings are created equal, and the best compliment I can give Paul of Whisky Drams is that his events feel like I am hosting a tasting in my own home. You will always get a tasting with something familiar, but not the same; something that will divide the room in opinion; and ALWAYS something you love that you would never have discovered on your own. I also recommend his tastings with food as they are superb and a convivial atmosphere is par for the course. Highly recommended for individuals or business owners wishing to entertain.” Paul de Raney

“What a great way to do business! I have attended six of Whisky Drams events with each one being very different from the other, the only constant being the great company and conversation. Paul’s knowledge and passion for the spirit makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I’m looking forward to the next one and to meeting more whiskey aficionados!David Grey,
