End of Summer Tasting

Let's celebrate and say goodbye in style

The autumnal equinox is nearly upon us!

The meteorological calendar defines the start of the new season as September 1st, whilst the astronomical calendar identifies it as later in September. What they both share is that the date was traditionally a day of celebration.

So celebrate it we shall!!

The End of Summer tasting is an exploration into “summer drinks” for a cigar, accompanied by BBQ style food from our favourite Mayfair venue: The Meat & Wine Co.

The Smoke:
Our cigar host - Martin - enjoys his cigars with wine, and that is the inspiration for this tasting.

Horacio Jacques Chancel is a personal favourite of mine, so I selected their handmade, Horacio V for you. It’s a delicious, hard to find smoke.

The venue terrace is completely covered with heaters, if there’s a nip in the air.

Drinks:
Let’s take a break from the norm for this celebration and have a non-whisky Whisky Drams tasting!

We are welcoming 2 drams that are on the rise, tequila and rum, along with something unexpectedly epic with a cigar - calvados.

Meat & Wine’s Head Sommelier has selected 3 wines for this celebratation, together with our guest speaker they will guide you through this 6 drink tasting designed to engage you on the choices you reach for with a cigar.

Food:
The Meat & Wine Co is a fine dining Steak Restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. It fuses African heritage and cuisine with modern culinary techniques and we love it there.

The Head Chef has designed a mouthwatering end of summer BBQ for us the includes: Slow Cooked Beef ribs and I’m especially looking forward to Tempura Biltong.
